hobbies.
The things I do when I step away from the screen. A visual log of some favorite places I've been, the sports I suffer through, and the quiet moments of offline zen.
Cannon Beach, OR
Towering sea stacks and relentless fog. I love the imposing, moody isolation of the Oregon coast—it always makes me feel incredibly small in the best way possible.
Liverpool FC
Waking up at 7 AM on weekends isn't a choice; it's a religion. There is nothing in sports quite like the heavy metal energy of Anfield. Through the agonizing heartbreaks and the miraculous European nights under the lights, supporting this club is a permanent state of being.
Tennis
NTRP 3.5Currently locked in at a solid 3.5 rating. For me, tennis is this obsessive combination of physical endurance and chess-like geometry. It's just me, the racket, and the mental game of trying to out-maneuver my opponent across the net.
Jackson Hole, WY
I've made the trip out here every summer for the past half-decade, and the raw vertical scale is still visually jarring to me. Seeing those jagged peaks cut straight out of the valley floor without any foothills never gets old.
Lawn Mowing
Headphones on, phone left inside. Mowing the lawn is pure, mechanical zen. There is a deep, immediate satisfaction in taking a chaotic patch of grass and laying down mathematically perfect, parallel stripes. It’s an hour of uninterrupted peace where the only metric of success is a perfectly straight line.
Formula 1
Engineering pushed to the absolute limit. I am hopelessly tethered to the beautiful, chaotic tragedy that is Scuderia Ferrari. Rooting for Charles Leclerc every Sunday is an exercise in raw, weekly emotional resilience.
Tucker
You can't stare at a screen all day when you have a six-year-old, medium-sized Goldendoodle demanding your attention. He is pure, unfiltered happiness and the absolute best excuse to unplug and get outside.
Live Fire
There is no screen, no refresh button, and no shortcut. Grilling is an entirely analog process of managing temperature, smoke, and time. It forces patience. Whether it's a quick evening sear or a slow weekend smoke, it's my favorite way to completely disconnect and make something with my hands.
Titans & Downfalls
I get completely absorbed in the stories of historical industrialists. There is something endlessly fascinating about studying a meteoric rise and a spectacular downfall—like tracing Charles M. Schwab's massive steel empire all the way to his final days in the casinos of Monte Carlo. It proves human nature never really changes.
Acadia, ME
Freezing at the summit of Cadillac Mountain just to be the first person in the country to see the sunrise. The Maine coast is jagged, relentless, and entirely unforgettable.
Grand Canyon, AZ
The ultimate lesson in permanence. Watching the shadows shift across the canyon walls at golden hour is a surreal experience. It’s an ancient, silent void that demands total respect from anyone standing on the edge.
The Archives
I have a terrible habit of falling into massive philosophical rabbit holes when I should be sleeping. Whether it’s debating the rationality of belief, wrestling with the existence of the soul, or digging into historical theology, my brain just loves a complex, unsolvable puzzle. It usually starts with one simple question and somehow turns into hours of overthinking I didn’t plan for.
Mostly shot on S22/26 Ultra or Pixel 9
Fantasy Football
A masterclass in overthinking (I'm addicted to this like crack, not that I have ever done crack lol). It's 90% luck and 10% agonizing over waiver wires at 3 AM. Sure, I might field a shit team every other year and lost to Jillan (gf) a few times 😭 (she knows nothing about fantasy football), nothing beats the high of beating Brad (friend) twice a year. The less you care abou the more you win. The group chat trash talk is practically a sport in itself.
